Welcome to the twentieth Faith Lutheran Daily Devotion for this Stewardship season!

The Joy of Generosity” by Joyce Lienke

Acts 20: 35  Paul is speaking to the Ephesian Elders.

In all this I have given you an example that by  such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Many people have more than others. They often feel that they have worked hard for it and should keep it for themselves.  It should be theirs to do with what they want.  However, some people may have less because they haven’t had the same opportunities as others.

No matter who you are and how much money you have, we are all called to give from what we have. But many times, the poor give of themselves and feel more blessed than those who have more.  People who don’t give of themselves, don’t experience the blessings that Jesus and Paul refer to.

May the rich share with the poor and receive the blessings of God.  Amen.
