Even though I am relatively new to formal church ministry, I have been a member of Faith for almost 30 years. My previous life’s work was in the marketing of health care services, particularly, long term care for older adults.
I am a graduate of our Synod’s Lay School of Ministry which prepared me to become a Congregationally Recognized Partner in Ministry (CRPM) through much challenging and thought provoking class work. I have now completed my Clinical Pastoral Education program which heightened my skills in one-on-one pastoral ministry.
My particular focus at Faith is pastoral care of and an advocate for older adults. Much of this is carried out through visitation to the hospitalized, home-bound, and to those who are in assisted living or nursing home venues, for either long or short-term stays. Sunday worship leading, preaching from time to time and assisting with funerals are also portions of my part-time position here.
In addition, I encourage the use of the labyrinth on Faith’s property, by providing information to interested groups and individuals, along with scheduling themed walks.
My husband, Jim, and I have two grown children, Stacy and Matt. Stacy, lectures at UW-Madison, is married and Mom to our two grandchildren, Luke and Claire. Our son is the Sous Chef at a wonderful restaurant on the capital square in Madison.
