Dear Friends in Faith,
Once, while I was a student at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, someone I passed on the sidewalk in Minneapolis handed me a tract and encouraged me to read it.
The tract said that scientists had noticed a substantial increase in the population of buzzards in the Holy Land. According to the tract, that could only mean one thing: that God was making final preparations for the Battle of Armageddon, the end of the world prophesied in the book of Revelation in the New Testament (according to some interpretations.) The buzzards’ job would be to clean up the carrion left over from the battle!
Of all the things the Bible speaks about, the “end times” somehow bring out the most wildly diverse interpretations from among Christian people.
